Episode 6 | Chapters 5 & 6 — Self-Rule and Surrender
These two chapters belong together. You cannot understand surrender without first understanding what you are surrendering — the condition that has been governing every human being since the garden, running underneath every system, every framework, every spiritual practice ever constructed. This episode names it plainly. And then it names the only way out.
"So why surrender? I had to find the answer to this question for myself, not intellectually. At the time this happened, I had been given enough to know that surrender was the only option. But somewhere in those early months, I needed to understand why. Why this way? Why all of it? Why Him?
And here's why. When my husband and I look at the state of the world, we don't see a political situation. We don't see a person or a movement or an institution that can fix what's broken. Maybe you're seeing the same thing. What we see is a world that has been allowed to reach exactly this point, where God is the only One left standing as a viable option. You may also feel this without being able to name it.
The systems that were supposed to hold — education, medicine, politics, religion — they're all fracturing at the same time. And underneath it is a deception so layered, so normal that most people can't even see it anymore. What we've been told is that we can save ourselves, that we have all the answers inside of us, that surrender is weakness. And we've organized entire systems around those lies. But a system built on self-rule can't actually hold people. It just breaks them differently. That's not pessimism, it's clarity.
After spending time in His presence and becoming more familiar with who He is, the one thing that hits me the hardest is the through line of scripture. From the garden to rescuing the Israelites out of Egypt, to the wilderness, to exile, to sending his Son to be the only remedy for this mess, all Yahweh ever wanted was a family. All He ever asked was that his people walk with Him, depend on Him, and let Him be their God.
What I keep coming back to every single time isn't just that He wanted it, it's that He kept wanting it. After every rejection, every betrayal, after His people turned away again and again, He never revised the offer. He just kept extending it."

Episode 5 | Chapter 4 — The New Covenant
The institution reduced the most significant shift in human history to a prayer you said once and hoped it stuck. This episode is about what it actually is.
The New Covenant is not a new set of beliefs. It is not a weekly service. It is not a doctrine. It is a new governing arrangement — God Himself, Yahweh the Most High, actually taking up residence inside a surrendered human being and governing from within. His law written on the heart. His Spirit directing the steps. His desires becoming your desires. Not gradually in theory — actually, concretely, in real life.
What most people do not realize is that this offer is not new. The covenant structure was already laid out in Exodus 19:5-6 — obey His voice, keep His covenant, and He will be your God and you will be His people. That has always been the offer. It has never changed. Surrender to Yahweh's voice, follow His direction, and He aligns you with the ordered reality He designed. What Jesus made possible was not a different covenant — it was the fulfillment of the one that had always been on the table, with the barrier of sin removed so that the Spirit could do what the law never could: govern from the inside.
In this episode Kenny and Susannah discuss what the New Covenant actually is — not the institution's version — and how it has played out in their real lives. The cycles that broke. The weight that lifted. The things that once ruled them that simply lost their grip. Not because they tried harder. Because the governing authority actually changed.
This episode also draws a clear line between forgiveness and remission — two things the institutional church has collapsed into one, at enormous cost to the people inside it. Forgiveness clears the record. Remission removes what produced the record. One manages sin. The other ends it. The New Covenant was never designed to manage what was always meant to be removed.

Episode 4 | Chapter 3 — The Awakening
The awakening did not arrive as enlightenment. It arrived as demolition.
In this episode we walk through the chapter that sits at the center of the book — the Divine Interruption of January 2025 that dismantled everything in less than twenty-four hours and left no option but to surrender. Not gradually. Not gently. Like scales falling from eyes mid-drive, with nowhere to go but forward.
But this episode goes further than the personal story. Because what happened in January 2025 is not without precedent. At Mount Sinai, Israel entered into covenant with Yahweh — agreeing through Moses to follow His voice and obey His commands. He would be their God and they would be His people. Then Yahweh met with them directly and that is where the Ten Words, or Ten Commandments were spoken to them by Yahweh— this was not a list of commands, but the Logos of Yahweh, living and active, searching them. Piercing to the division of soul and spirit. Discerning the thoughts and intents of the heart. There is no creature hidden from His sight — all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. He was exposing and removing the self-rule that would prevent them from sustaining His presence. And when they felt the full weight of that searching, they refused to continue. They told Moses to go speak to God on their behalf. But that was not the offer. They had agreed to the covenant and then recoiled the moment it required the surrender of self-governance.
"For the Logos of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit...and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account." —Hebrews 4:12–13
That pattern — the searching Logos exposing what lies beneath, is exactly what the Divine Interruption looked like in January 2025. Yahweh searching. Everything hidden becoming visible. And the only two options left on the table: continue, or recoil like Israel at the mountain. We surrendered to Him. 
This episode also takes a hard look at feelings — what they are, what they are not, and the very specific danger they pose. Feelings are real. But they are not truth-tellers. They are among the most easily manipulated entry points the enemy has access to. A system built on feeling your way to God — whether it wears New Age clothing or institutional clothing — is a system built on ground the enemy can operate without restriction. This episode names that directly and does not soften it.
The Logos searched. There was nowhere left to hide. And that was the beginning of everything real.

Episode 3 | Chapter 2 — Broken Cisterns
When the institution fails you, the world offers no shortage of replacements. Self-help. Personal growth. Healing modalities. New Age spirituality. Each one promising what the last one couldn't deliver. Each one carved a little deeper and came back a little more empty.
In this episode we go deep into the chapter that gives the book its name. Susannah walks through the years she spent trying to fix herself by herself — the journals filled with the same sentence on different pages, the coaching programs, the oracle cards, the Reiki certifications, the breathwork ceremonies — and the moment she realized the entire toolkit she had spent years building was completely useless against what had walked in through the door she had left open.
This episode also pulls in both Kenny and Susannah's stories — from New Age thinking to working inside homeless services, watching a broken system try to fix broken people with broken tools, and what it looks like when Yahweh begins to make His calling impossible to ignore.
And then there is the spirit realm. This episode does not treat it lightly — and it does not let either world off the hook. The institutional church and the New Age world operate differently on the surface, but the enemy works through both. He does not announce himself. He works through thoughts that feel like your own, feelings that feel like confirmation, and coordinated signals that feel like the universe speaking — or like the Spirit moving. The New Age world has built an entire architecture around these mechanisms and called it awakening. The institutional church has done the same thing and called it anointing. This episode names what both actually are — and what it took to get free.

Episode 2 | Chapter 1 — Broken Religion
Susannah was born going to church. From the fluorescent-lit basement of a small-town Bible church to a Baptist congregation in Oregon, to a Christian school that required performance and delivered nothing real — she spent her entire childhood inside a system that handed her a God she could not find and then told her the problem was her. The visceral wrongness she felt from her earliest memories — the "ick" that lived in her chest every Sunday — was not a bad attitude. It was a built-in lie detector going off constantly, telling her the thing in the room was not what it claimed to be.
Kenny also weighs in with his own experience inside the institution — including what happened when he got to Bible college and made the mistake the system cannot tolerate: he started asking honest questions about the doctrine and the foundation underneath it. The institution's response was swift and revealing. He was told he was not allowed to return. When the ground cannot bear the weight of scrutiny, the only move available is to remove the one doing the scrutinizing.
Together they unpack what the institutional church actually is: not a place of worship, but a system with the form of godliness and none of the power. A door-shaped object that leads nowhere near Yahweh. A mechanism designed to keep sincere people reaching and never arriving — and to silence the ones who notice.

Episode 1 | Full Book Overview
Before the content of this book is presented, its nature must be understood. This is not a self-help book. It is not a recovery memoir. It is a firsthand account of what happens when a woman stops filling herself from broken sources — and what she finds when she finally stops. 
Introduction This is not a book about spiritual searching. It is the account of a woman who searched — through church, through self-help, through New Age spirituality, through every constructed version of wholeness available — and found that none of it held. Susannah LaPoint writes from the other side of what she calls the "Divine Interruption" — an uninvited, unnegotiable encounter in January of 2025 that dismantled forty-five years of carefully managed existence in less than twenty-four hours. Broken Cisterns is the record of what that cost, what it revealed, and what was found on the other side of the hardest thing she has ever done. It is written for the woman who already knows something is wrong — who has been quietly, skillfully managing that knowing for years — and who is standing at the edge of something true.
The Foundation This section, included at the beginning of all Senetru books, establishes the linguistic and historical ground on which everything else is built. Language determines understanding. When words drift from their original meaning — and they have, across thousands of years and multiple translations — the conclusions built on those words drift with them. The Foundation examines how words like love, faith, grace, and Logos were used in their original Hebrew and Greek contexts, and how the distance between those meanings and the English words we now read has altered what Scripture actually says. Episode 6 | Chapter 5: Return to Me
Chapter 5 is the final chapter — and it is the Father's final call. It has been 2,000 years since Jesus walked the earth and showed us the way to the Father. In that time, deception has become thick. Yahweh has been replaced as God by a distorted and redefined image of His own Son. His mercy is calling out one final time. This is the last call. Surrender now, before it is too late.
The Prodigal PeopleThe story of the prodigal son is not ancient history. It is a present indictment and a present invitation. The Father's heart is being revealed again to a generation living far from His rule. The prodigal's return was a return from self-rule. The moment he abandoned the far country and turned his face toward his father, restoration came immediately. This is the heart of Yahweh toward a prodigal people. The moment we abandon the exhausting weight of self-rule and turn our faces toward Him, He will run to us.
Cast Out Self-RuleThe institutional church has remained because it provides a sanctuary for the one thing the Father requires us to cast out — self-rule. Self-rule is the internal high place. The institution offers a checklist of religious activities and a visible god that can be managed. But the true God is Spirit. He does not dwell in temples made with hands. To return to the Father is to abandon the comfort of the visible calf and stand exposed before the invisible God, where no mediator can shield you from His presence. 
Outside the WallsNot everyone reading these pages has been held inside the institutional system. Some left long ago — not out of surrender, but out of disgust, disillusionment, or the quiet conclusion that none of it was real. Walking away from a false system is not the same as returning to the Father. The call issued in this book is not just a call out of a building. It is a call to the Father. Self-rule outside the walls looks different than self-rule inside them. Inside the walls, it wears religious language. Outside the walls, it wears independence, skepticism, and self-sufficiency. Both are the same governing condition. 
Evict the Unauthorized Mediators"And I heard another voice from heaven saying, 'Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.'" —Revelation 18:4
This command is not a gentle suggestion — it is a command of immediate evacuation. The institutional system is not a neutral house of worship. It is Mystery Babylon, and her primary commodity is the enslavement of the children of God through unauthorized mediation. The Father does not share His children with an institution. He is not interested in a joint-custody arrangement with a religious board or a denominational hierarchy. The walls of Babylon are crumbling. Stop trying to repair the ruins. Leave her, and come home.
Heart Is Where the Home IsThe voice of the Father is not whispering. It is summoning. Preparation begins in the heart. The mountains of pride must be brought down. Nothing elevated above the Father can remain. The Father and the Son do not occupy buildings. They dwell where rule has been surrendered and they establish residence where the high places have been torn down.
Return to Me We are living in the hour of the final heralding call. The systems of men have exhausted themselves. The restoration Malachi spoke of is realized only when the children of God face the Father in complete submission. The tabernacle of God is not a building — it is you. When the Father's glory returns to the surrendered heart, the restoration begins and the whole earth is filled with His glory. The call is issued. It is time to stop playing the game of religion. It is time to stop defending the rule of self. It is time to come home. The Father is at the door. Return to Him. "Return to Me, and I will return to you," says the LORD of hosts.—Malachi 3:7

Episode 5 | Chapter 4: The Hearts of the Fathers
The final words of the Old Testament are not addressed to those outside the covenant. They are spoken directly to a people who already claim to belong to God — and they carry a warning that has never been rescinded. The hearts of the fathers must turn. If they do not, the earth is struck with a curse. Chapter 4 establishes why that warning is not a distant prophetic concern but a present and visible reality — and what must happen before the Day of the Lord can come.
The Fracture at the SourceThe condition of the world is not a mystery. Broken homes, absent fathers, children without covering, societal decay — these are not cultural problems. They are the visible fruit of a people who do not know the Father. When the Father is not known, earthly fatherhood loses its reference point. Without that reference, authority becomes distorted, identity becomes unstable, and the household loses its structure.
The institutional church contributed directly to this fracture. By declaring the Son to be the Father and the Father to be the Son, the institution collapsed the relational distinction that God Himself established in Scripture. That distinction — a governing Father and a surrendered Son — was designed to be the pattern reflected in every family. When that pattern was erased, God's people were left without a model to follow. You cannot reflect a relationship you do not understand.
The Target — The FamilyFrom the beginning, the family was the vessel through which the life of God would expand across generations. God's direction to Adam was to build a family in alignment with Him — not merely to multiply human beings, but to multiply a people who carried His image, His rule, and His order into the earth. This is why the enemy targeted the family first. If the family is the vessel through which God's life fills the earth, then altering the family alters what fills the earth. The breakdown of the relationship between the parents and God manifested as destruction in the very first generation — and that fracture has not stayed in Eden.
The Pattern of AlignmentScripture presents a consistent pattern: when the governing head of the household surrenders to Yahweh, the entire household is brought under that alignment. Noah's personal surrender became the ark that preserved his entire family. Joshua's declaration — "as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD" — was not a slogan but a governing decision. The Philippian jailer's total surrender in Acts 16 resulted in the transformation of his entire household. The alignment of the father establishes the covering under which the household is preserved. What begins in one flows into many. The restoration of the family is not a collective social movement. It is the result of one surrendered heart at a time.
The True Source of FatherhoodChapter 4 also addresses the millions of homes where no earthly father is present. Earthly fatherhood was never intended to be the source of life — it was designed to be a reflection of it. When an earthly father is absent or abusive, the reflection is shattered, but the source remains. Yahweh's heart is always facing the hearts of His children. The Logos — the will and intent of the Father — does not require a biological father to be planted. It requires a surrendered heart. In the New Covenant, the Father Himself becomes the direct Teacher and guide to everyone who yields to Him.
"A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation." —Psalm 68:5
The Incorruptible SeedWhen the serpent planted the seed of self-rule into humanity through Adam, a cure was already in motion. The Logos was that cure — the incorruptible seed carried by Mary and manifested as Jesus, the Logos embodied. Through Christ, the Father's life is carried into every heart that surrenders to the will of Yahweh, establishing a new lineage — not of flesh, but of Spirit. As a father surrenders to the will of Yahweh, he becomes the conduit through which the Logos is planted in his children. He is not just teaching a blueprint — he is projecting the Father's intent through his own life.
The ConclusionThe warning of a curse spoken through Malachi is not a threat of random punishment — it is a description of a natural consequence. When the Father as the head is severed from the body, the body dies. For centuries the institution has attempted to treat this decay with programs and organized religion. The fracture only deepens because the institution cannot provide what only the Father can. Our only hope is not found in a better church program or a more robust theology — it is found in restoring the clarity of the relationship between the Father and the Son within our own hearts. When fathers stop delegating their spiritual responsibility to unauthorized mediators and return to their role as conduits of the Logos, alignment is restored. When the hearts of the fathers turn to Yahweh, the hearts of the children will follow.
"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse." —Malachi 4:5-6

Episode 4 | Chapter 3: To Walk Humbly
The indictment has been presented. The breach has been established. Chapter 3 addresses what comes next — not as a matter of information, but as a matter of the heart. The path back to the Father is not upward. It is downward. The will must come down from its place of authority. The high places must be brought low. Humility is the doorway to restoration.
Three Responses to the TruthWhen the breach is exposed, the human will does not remain neutral. It surrenders or it resists. Chapter 3 identifies three responses that arise when truth lands on the heart — brokenness, defensiveness, and hardening. Brokenness is the response that does not argue or defend — it allows the weight of reality to land fully and creates space for the Father to act. Defensiveness rises when the truth threatens something a person is not willing to release — it feels justified, can even sound spiritual, yet keeps the self in control. Hardening is what follows when truth is resisted repeatedly — it develops in layers, grows quieter over time, and becomes the most dangerous condition because it feels stable while moving away from life. The Father has not abandoned the hardened heart. Though time is short, the call remains the same — Return. Come down. Surrender.
Destroying the High PlacesHumility is not a concept — it is an action. It is the bringing down of what has been raised up within the heart. High places are the structures where self-rule is maintained. They take form in thoughts, loyalties, attachments, and in systems a person refuses to release. Throughout the history of Israel, the presence of high places marked a people who were not fully surrendered — even when other forms of obedience were present. Even kings who did what was right before the Lord were marked by this failure when the high places remained. The same pattern holds now. The question is not whether the high places will fall. The question is whether they come down through surrender or through forced removal, after it is too late.
The Institutional Church as a High PlaceEvery institutional church building stands as a physical high place — a structure elevated as a place of access, teaching, and encounter that the New Covenant never authorized. The Covenant established no functions through a physical structure or institutional system. Holding onto institutional mediation maintains a layer that stands between the individual and the Father's direct work. The circle of the institution leads only back to itself. Humility aligns with what the Covenant established — it trusts the Father to fulfill His role, receives His teaching directly, yields to His writing on the heart, and allows Him to govern from within.
The Logos Searches the HeartNo religious system, no pastor, no accumulated knowledge, no program will stand as a defense when the Logos of God searches the heart. The Logos — God's will and intent — does not engage with arguments or respond to justification. It moves beyond appearance and cuts directly into the center of the human heart. It reveals what is true and exposes what is hidden. It separates what a person claims from what actually governs them. Every person will stand before the Living God without any ability to hide — not before a religious leader, not before an institution, not before a system. On that day, defensiveness, explanations, attendance, and association will hold no weight. What remains is what has been surrendered and what has not.
The CallThis is why the call has been consistent from the beginning — surrender to the Father. Bring the high places low. Cast out the slavery of self-rule and allow the freedom of the Spirit of God to completely take over. Walking humbly with Him is not an outward posture. It is the removal of everything that competes with His authority. It is the end of self-rule and alignment with His Kingdom. When that surrender happens, something shifts at the deepest level — the same Logos that searches the heart becomes what governs it. What once exposed now leads. What once cut through deception now establishes truth from within.
This is the New Covenant.
"He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?" —Micah 6:8

Episode 3 | Chapter 2: The Breach
Chapter 2 is the formal indictment. Before the violations are named, the chapter establishes the terms of the New Covenant — what God promised, what He requires, and what a functioning Covenant looks like in practice. It then defines what constitutes a breach — not measured by intent or appearance, but by function. A covenant is breached when its defined terms are no longer upheld or when an unauthorized third party interposes itself to alter its execution.
The Parties to the BreachThree parties are named in this indictment: The institutional church — all sects, denominations, and divisions — has inserted itself into a covenant to which it was never a named party, assuming roles reserved exclusively for the Father and for Christ. Its leaders — pastors, priests, reverends, doctors of theology, and all those who occupy positions of claimed spiritual authority — have functioned as unauthorized mediators, self-appointed teachers, and regulators of access to the Father. And those who claim to be the people of God have authorized it — yielding to unauthorized human mediation and external rules never outlined in Scripture, forfeiting their covenantal benefits in the process.
The Covenant ViolationsThis episode walks through five documented violations entered into the record. Violation One: Interposition — the institutional church has assumed a mediatorial role it was never granted, displacing the one Mediator defined by the Covenant: the Man Christ Jesus. Violation Two: Redefinition — at the Council of Nicaea in AD 325, the institutional church redefined Christ, collapsing the distinction between the Son and the Father and removing the Mediator from the structure of the Covenant entirely. Violation Three: Usurpation — the Covenant explicitly excludes human agency in the transmission of truth, yet the institution has erected an entire system of seminaries, pulpits, titles, and hierarchies to replace the direct teaching of the Spirit. Violation Four: Coercion and Duress — a legitimate covenant operates through internal alignment, not external force, yet the institution has relied on coercion, persecution, expulsion, and social pressure to preserve itself across seventeen centuries. Violation Five: Abandonment and Non-Performance — the people themselves have abandoned the terms of the Covenant through willful consent to unauthorized mediation and external rules never authorized by Scripture.
The Evidence of the BreachA covenant is evaluated not by claims but by fruit. The evidence presented in this chapter is not theoretical — it is visible on the streets of every American city and in the condition of the family across the Western world. Fatherlessness, institutional corruption, sexual scandal, addiction, homelessness, societal collapse, and the multiplication of over 45,000 competing denominations are not peripheral issues. They are exhibits. They demonstrate that the Covenant's promised operation — the internal writing of the law, direct knowledge of God, and a people unified under one Spirit — is absent at scale. A living Covenant produces true life. A breached covenant produces decay.
The VerdictThe New Covenant has not been removed — but it is in default. Those who claim to be the people of God while operating through unauthorized mediation and altered structure are not living within the New Covenant as God defined it. They are living within a different framework. The conclusion cannot be softened. Yet even now, the heart of the Father remains open — because mercy is written into the Covenant itself. But the window is shortening. The signs are visible. The call to return to the Father is being issued even now — and it will not go out forever.
This is the breach.
"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more." —Hebrews 8:10-12
